Staying close to Theme Parks on the Gold Coast

As part of our Theme Parks' Birthday weekend for the twins and I, our family stayed at Sea World Nara Resort. This resort is linked to Sea World theme park via monorail / on foot and is a 20 minute easy drive to the other theme parks including, Movie World. Yes, parking is free! *phew*

This resort is catered with families in mind so if you want a quiet get away, this is NOT THE PLACE for you.

They often have special packages that involve room rate and unlimited entries to theme park(s), etc and there are many different room types to choose from. As our intention was not to hang around the resort and to be out & about, we chose the Resort Queen Room. I requested for the room to be on the ground floor so we could walk to the pool and aquatic playground without waiting around for the lifts.

It is a spacious room for our family of 4. With two queen size beds, it was ample space for one parent and one child on each bed. There was ample space for our bags, shoes and to lounge around while waiting for each other. Our room is located in the GARDEN WING, away from the pool (3 min leisurely walk) so it was quiet for us during bedtime which was very nice.

We chose not to dine at any of the restaurants within the resort because it is pricey. Instead, we ate out on one night and on the second night, we had cups of instant noodles and fresh fruit for dinner! It is certainly handy having our car on hand because the resort is not located within walking distances to any shops or restaurants (that are not located within the resort).

As part of our deal, we also received unlimited entries into Sea World and Movie World! Exclusive only for guests who stay for 2 nights or more is the 9:00am Dolphin Discovery show (30 minutes) - this is a show you don't want to miss, it is brilliant!

The highlight of this resort which is a favourite especially for my son is the aquatic playground.

The moment he saw it, he ran as quick as his legs would take him. The husband ran after him while Charlotte and I walked leisurely to the pool. Needless to say, we spent every single late afternoon in the pool area upon our return from the theme park.

Sea World Nara Resort is a great place to plonk our heads on the pillows after a fun-filled day at the theme parks and having a car is very handy! I would highly recommend this resort as a base for families who want to explore theme parks on the Gold Coast.
